QModManager (Subnautica) is a community-made, open-source mod loader that streamlines installing and running mods for both Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero. It loads mods at game startup via a standardized QMods folder, reading each mod’s manifest (mod.json) to handle initialization, dependencies, and version checks, which reduces manual file edits and improves mod compatibility. QModManager also provides a common framework and APIs for mod authors, along with logging to help troubleshoot conflicts. It is not affiliated with Unknown Worlds; players typically install QModManager once and then add supported mods to the QMods folder to use them.
